Written Assignment #4: Deviant Art
The Following Pictures were Taken From Deviantart and are the property of their respective owners.
The lighting angle which the photographer used when taking a picture of this kitten, along with the camera tilt helps add to the overall cuteness of the kitten and the picture. The minor blur also helps add to the cuteness. The Rule of Thirds is demonstrated in this image as the shine and reflection of the kittens left eye draws the viewer to the top third of the image.
The use of a monochromatic grey filter along with the expression of the models in the photo demonstrate a more gloom sullen tone. The rule of thirds was expertly used as the model on the left side of the image draws your eye to that third of the image. This also helps highlight the tine of the image, but it also signals the viewer to study the opposite half of the image as you follow the models eyes.
The use of vibrant colors throughout the image, along with the placement of the little girl establish a theme of childhood innocence as she reaches out for all the balloons. The rule of thirds is used again as the little girl is positioned on the left side of the image drawing you to her, with the movement of her arm creating an attraction to the balloons which occupy the background of the image.
